Unique Program for Each Child
The low student-teacher ratio and specially designed programs in our classes are created to meet the unique needs of each student. The core academic curriculum is adapted to each child’s level of ability. Academic, social, vocational and daily living skills, communication, computer, physical education, leisure and creative activities are emphasized.
Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech Therapy Services
Professional therapists work in conjunction with classroom teachers ensuring that students receive appropriate services, whether it be on an individual or group basis. All therapy plans are based on the level of ability and need.
Psychology Department Services
Psychologists provide professional support and guidance to students, parents and teaching personnel with the goal of helping students to realize their full potential.
Services include comprehensive psycho-educational assessments, classroom consultations, parent consultations, staff training, behavioral, social and academic program development, individual and group interventions, participation in a multi-disciplinary team approach to case management and collaboration with psychiatric and psychological resources in the community.
Social Work Department Services
Students and their families have access to social services through the Social Service Department. The social worker acts as a link between the family, the school and the community. The department provides information, referral, and support to families when needed. This includes individual counselling for students and parents, parent and student support groups, sibling and grandparent days, and resource information.
